This week is Carers’ Week in the UK.
Let me take this opportunity to again lend my support to Carers for our vulnerable seniors.
In spite of the media reports of bad carers who preyed on the seniors in their care; there are a majority group of carers who are hardworking, caring and dedicated to their jobs.
We should not let a few “rotten apples” to spoil our views of carers. We should also try to understand that, at times, their job can be very challenging.
Alzheimer’s disease sufferers and those with dementia, often have behavioural problems that make the job of the carers difficult.
There have been reports of aggressive nursing home residents, physically abuse their carers. No, of course, they are not to be blamed.
If your loved ones are being well cared for, please let the carer(s) know that you really apprecaite the care.
WE VALUE OUR DEDICATED CARERS.
