Nursing home staffer charged with assaults
October 22, 2008
A SYDNEY nursing home employee has been charged with the repeated assault of 90-year-old residents.
Police received reports of multiple assaults on residents at the aged care facility at Sutherland, in Sydney's south.
An investigation revealed that the alleged assaults took place between January and June of this year.
Detectives arrested the 49-year-old woman at her Woronora residence about 1.15pm (AEDT) yesterday and charged here with 10 counts of common assault.
The alleged offences relate to incidents involving four "high-dependency" residents, police said.
The woman was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Sutherland Local Court on November 20.
