Director sacked after nursing home 'sex assaults'
ABC - October 31, 2008
The director of a nursing home that is being investigated over assault and misconduct allegations has been sacked.
The Pensinula Village Retirement Centre at Umina on the central coast of New South Wales has been given two weeks to respond to a non-compliance notice over two allegations of sexual assault against elderly residents.
In the latest development, the director of nursing has been sacked after the board found proper procedures were not followed.
Nine other staff with unsupervised access to residents, whose police checks had expired, have already been stood down.
