ALBANY — Sen. Chuck Schumer has co-sponsored a bill that would address elder abuse.
The Elder Justice Act would provide tools and funding to state and community officials to prevent and detect elder abuse, Schumer said yesterday in a telephone news conference. The bill would require coordination of data collection by a new Elder Justice Coordinating Council and the Department of Justice.
