Two Calif. men charged with elder abuse

Bites, scratches and sores on the body of a 70-year-old California woman prompted the arrest of her two sons on suspicion of abuse, police said Thursday.
Jon Carter, 50, and Brian Carter, 41, of Morgan Hill, Calif., were charged with felony abuse likely to produce great bodily harm to an elder and with failure to care for their mother after one of them brought her to the emergency room at San Jose's Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Bay City News Service reported.
The bites and marks on the woman's body prompted a search of the family's home, where two ferrets and a great amount of feces and urine were found, police said.
