Alleged elder abuse leads to Porterville woman's arrest

A Porterville woman who allegedly assaulted her mother has been arrested.
Officers of the Porterville Police Department responded at 4:15 p.m. Monday to the 400 block of West Morton Avenue to investigate a verbal disturbance.
During the investigation, officers reportedly discovered that Bonita Herreria had allegedly physically assaulted her mother during the argument. The victim, whose name was not disclosed, sustained minor injuries as a result of the occurrence, police report, but did not require medical attention.
Herreria, 42, reportedly fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers, but was later found in the area. She was booked on suspicion of elder abuse.
