Port St. Lucie woman accused of leaving elderly woman in hot car for more than 30 minutes

PORT ST. LUCIE — A 42-year-old certified nurse’s assistant was charged Friday morning with allegedly leaving an elderly woman inside a car where temperatures reached an estimated 110 degrees.
Shawn Thomas, 42, of the 1000 block of Southwest Janar Avenue, was arrested on a charge of elder abuse and misdemeanor obstruction.
