‘Seniors and the Law’ program set for Enfield Senior Center

ENFIELD — The state Judicial Department will hold a free program for the elderly and their relatives and friends titled, “Seniors and the Law,” on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The program, which is being held at the Enfield Senior Center at 299 Elm St., runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration runs earlier, from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Coffee and a light breakfast will be provided.
Judge Raymond R. Norko, the presiding judge at Enfield Superior Court, is scheduled to open the program.
Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney John DeMattia, from the Division of Criminal Justice’s Elder Services Bureau, will discuss elder abuse and neglect. He will also touch upon prosecuting cases of Medicaid fraud and financial exploitation of the elderly.
Enfield Probate Judge Susan L. Warner will discuss durable power of attorney for heath care, living wills, and do-not resuscitate orders.
