Sheriff's Office
Elder abuse arrest, Stockton: An 82-year-old woman in the 3400 block of East Marfargoa Drive said a 44-year-old man took an unknown amount of cash from her over three years, taking money to do her grocery shopping but neglecting to do the shopping, deputies reported.
The woman also told deputies that in an argument about six months ago, the man hit his forehead against her forehead, causing her to fall down, then kicked her once on her hip, deputies reported. The woman was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center; it was unknown if any injuries were found to coincide with her statement, deputies reported. The woman said she argued with the man Wednesday and told him she was going to call the Sheriff's Office, deputies reported. She said the man pulled the telephone cord, damaging it and preventing her from calling, deputies reported.
John Lopez Jurado III was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of elder abuse.
