PINEVILLE — Representatives of First State Financial Bank (FSF) and the Pineville Community Hospital (PCH) are teaming up to fight crime against the elderly residents of PCH’s nursing facility. FSF recently made a $250,000 investment to make the Seniors Crimestopper’s Program a reality.

Terry Rooker, president of Senior Housing Crime Prevention said, “We’re just an added layer of insulation,” to protect the elderly in this community.Senior Crimestoppers is a national organization that is determined to prevent, reduce and solve crimes committed against elderly people. Benefits of the program include personal lock boxes provided for the use of residents and/or residents’ family members. The secured lock boxes have already been installed in some patient rooms at PCH.
Cash rewards are also being paid for anonymous information about criminal incidents as a part of the new Crimestoppers program. An around the clock call center is open for tips regarding crimes against seniors, and ongoing educational programs — promoting zero tolerance to crime — are being offered. These programs and marketable materials are expected to better educate elderly residents, family members, facilities and the community.

During a recent ceremony, FSF Regional President Baylor Fulton presented Milton Brooks, CEO of PCH with a plaque, marking that PCH is an official participant of the Crime-stoppers program.
