Elderly Texas Couple abducted by the State: Don't let what happened to the Kidds happen to you

What an awful scenario. You have to see the video.
It is a precautionary tale, especially for Texans. If this can happen to Jean and Michael Kidd, who have always been good citizens, then it can happen to you. As a single parent, I feel especially vulnerable to the prospects of questionable guardianships and elder abuse in my future.
The Kidds, who have worked hard their whole lives and have lived independently in a lovely home, are being held against their will. Their crime? Growing old and being childless. Oh - and injuring a hip.
The State of Texas, through Adult Protective Services, abducted them from their lovely home and then allowed the property to fall into total disrepair. Worse, this shameful example of guardianship abuse and neglect highlights the State of Texas' greed as officials sought to sell the home in a "involuntary Redistribution of Assets" ploy. Thankfully, has been blocked.
But in the meantime, the Kidd's are languishing, against their will, in the custody of The Department of Aging and Disability Services. Wny? Because of a call made to the state when Mr. Kidd fell and broke his hip.
These folks have no family to advocate for them. But they do have concerned readers and elected officials. Bell Country Legal Issues Examiner, Lou Ann Anderson, has been all over this topic. Ron Paul's website also shows the video and has a forum for discussion.
How can you help? Enlist the help of our elected officials. We pay their salaries.
