09/17/2009
A grassroots coalition that works to help older Mainers protect themselves from abuse has received a half million dollars from the U.S. Justice Department to provide transitional housing and case management services.
Rick Mooers is Chairman of the Board of the Elder Abuse Institute of Maine. He says the money will be used to rehabilitate a house donated by the city of Portland that will provide transitional housing for as-many-as three women who can live in the residence for up to six months.
