Kirk Bonamici, C.P.A., a resident of Spotswood, and his daughter, Megan Bonamici, a junior at Monroe Township High School, will present a seminar titled "Recognizing and Preventing Elder Financial Abuse" at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Monroe Township Office on Aging in the Monroe Township Municipal Building, Perrineville Road.
The seminar will focus on ways elders can be financially exploited, how to avoid such a fate and what to do if one has been financially abused. In addition, time will be allotted for discussion of real-world examples of abuse for the purpose of compiling anecdotal evidence to be shared with the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse.
Admission is free of charge, but seating is limited.
