Caregivers Earns Senior Approved Certification (USA)

With rising costs of medical care, reports of elder abuse, and concerns about ongoing customer support, the consumer, more than ever, is demanding better information prior to making a decision to contract and employ a service on behalf of self, spouse, or loved one.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- Abbey Caregivers. (http://www.abbeycaregivers.com/) has been awarded the Senior Approved Certification. The certification validates Abbey Caregivers as an excellent in-home care service with a substantiated history of quality service.

The certification is based heavily on the results of the survey, issued by Senior Approved Services, specializing in consumer surveys for the health and elder care industry. The process reaches beyond the traditional measures dictated by the various licensing and state surveying methods common to this industry. This unique survey process helps an existing customer report their perception of the overall experience of contracting with a company such as Abbey Caregivers.
This controlled survey process then provides future potential clients the knowledge that other seniors and their adult family caregivers have found the service of Abbey Caregivers to be superior.

Located in Los Angeles California, specializing in non-medical home care companion services, Abbey offers a variety of care plans to suit the needs of an elderly person, as well as services for those with disabilities and those recuperating at home from illness or injury. A care plan is tailored around the family's needs and can be contracted as a live-in or on a daily basis.
Abbey Caregivers is the first non-medical home care service in California to obtain certification. This is a distinction that clearly separates Abbey from other home care companies - only those that achieve a 90% or higher satisfaction rating receive certification. In fact, 23% of the businesses applying for the Senior Approved Certification do not pass through this stringent process.

"The survey is voluntary, it is not mandated by the health and elder care industry. The process is designed to substantiate credible business practices as it applies to serving the elder population", explains founder and president of Senior Approved Services, Barbara Mascio.
Existing clients completing the survey offered comments substantiating their overall approval of the services provided by the companions, the STNA's, and the HHA's employed by Abbey. One family member offered, "…we've found the aides very attentive to mother's needs and they genuinely seem to take an interest in mother as a whole person."

An adult daughter of a senior offered, "The companions that visit my father are exceptional. It helps to know that he is well cared for and that he is also happy for the daily visits."
"We help seniors connect with safe reliable companies that we can verify a history of quality care and/or service. We cannot hope to accomplish this lofty goal without services such as Abbey Caregivers", states Mascio.

What a "breath of fresh air"! It is not often that we come a cross recognition for the fantastic jobs done by dedicated carers. We must keep reminding ourselves that most carers are NOT elder abusers.
