One retirement community is doing its part to prevent elder abuse. Rainbow Assisted Living and Retirement Community is getting-set for the 2nd Annual Elder Abuse Prevention Forum, scheduled for Friday, June 12th.

The free event will feature various speakers, including officials from the Great Falls Police Department and Adult Protective Services. Organizers say elder abuse is on the rise in Montana. They hope the forum will increase awareness about this crime, as well as lead to prevention.

"Elder abuse is the single most growing crime, statistically," said Ed Moran of the Rainbow.

The Elder Abuse Prevention Forum is next Friday, June 12th at the Rainbow in Great Falls. The event runs from 1pm-7pm. Organizations involved with the elderly are encouraged to set-up a booth, free of charge.

For more information, contact the Rainbow at 761-6661.
