Woman Accused Of Stealing From Nuns, Pleads Not Guilty To New Charges
Santa Barbara, CA

The woman accused of stealing money from three nuns, pleaded not guilty to new charges, claiming she stole over $4,000 from a Montecito couple.

Denise D'sant Angelo was out on bail on charges stemming from a pending case against her, in which she is accused of stealing thousands from a three Santa Barbara nuns.

The defendant is facing two new, felony charges of financial elder abuse. Brian Cota with the Santa Barbara District Attorney's office says D'sant Angelo is facing grand theft charges because the amount allegedly taken, totals more than $4,000.

During her arraignment, a Superior Court Judge extended a restraining order, stating D'sant Angelo must stay away from the latest alleged victims for the next three months.

Her preliminary hearing for the new charges is set for January 12th.

A trial for case involving the Sisters Of Bethany, is slated to begin January 28th
