Nurse's aid deemed fit to stand trial for elder abuse
MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - A judge has ruled a 26-year-old nurse's aid charged with abusing senior citizens in his care is mentally competent to stand trial.
Timothy Carl will appear at a hearing later this month to determine if his case will move forward.
Police say Carl ransacked the kitchen inside a client's Muskegon Township home last February. The next day, they say, he returned to clean up the mess.
But instead, investigators say, Carl urinated on an elderly client, then poured liquid soap on the woman's husband.
Police say Carl was upset over a traffic citation and took his frustrations out on the couple.
