A home health aide faces up to a year in jail for endangering an 86-year-old patient with Alzheimer's disease.
Elizabeth Peters will be sentenced on Jan. 5 in Brooklyn. The crime occurred in October 2008.
District Attorney Charles J. Hynes said Peters pulled the patient away from a chair she was leaning on. Peters watched TV for 20 minutes while leaving the fallen woman face-down on the floor.
The prosecutor said Peters then dragged the helpless woman across the room by her ankles, and left her there for an hour.
The victim's son gave surveillance video to the district attorney's Elder Abuse Unit.
Peters was convicted of endangering the welfare of an incompetent person.
