Two residents of a foster care facility on Beard Street are now at Hurley Medical Center after Elder Abuse Task Force members searched the home, located at 1325 Beard St., Tuesday.
The driver was taken into custody earlier today after dropping off the residents outside the Department of Human Services, 2320 W. Pierson Road. She was booked on kidnapping charges, after keeping officials waiting two hours to pick up the residents without letting them know where they were. She was released pending further investigation.

Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said the home's conditions were "squalid," with rodents scuttling through the home. The task force began its investigation after complaints were made in October regarding the care in the home.
Pickell said a 72-year-old woman, weighing 64 pounds, had died about three weeks ago at a Stanley Road home, but the woman was under the care of the Beard Street facility's operators. Another woman, 92, died at the Beard Street home, which is not licensed to care the residents, on Tuesday weighing about 90 pounds, he said.
The deaths caused the task force to investigate conditions at the home, Pickell said.
