FLINT (WJRT) -- (01/08/09)--A local man is free on bond, charged in an adult abuse case involving his aunt -- a former Flint socialite.
David Parry, 37, is free on bond and is expected in court later this month.
Parry is charged with second-degree vulnerable adult abuse.
Investigators allege Parry caused serious physical harm to his 95-year-old aunt by failing to provide proper care for her.
Pictures taken inside of her Flint Township home show trash, beer bottles, empty cardboard boxes -- so much "stuff," in fact, that Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell says his investigators had a hard time walking room to room.
According to Pickell, Parry had been living with his aunt on and off for 13 years, receiving $3,000 a month to care for her.
Parry was arrested late last month following a five-month investigation by the county's Elder Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Team. Adult Protective Services and area police alerted the team, Pickell says, because there was garbage piled outside of the home.
