Teens Charged In Nursing Home Abuse
Cops: Female caregivers spat on, spanked, humiliated infirm elderly
DECEMBER 2
A group of teenagers working at a Minnesota nursing home abused and sexually humiliated elderly residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, prosecutors allege. The six young female caregivers were named yesterday in criminal complaints charging them with a variety of cruel behavior at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home in Albert Lea, a city in southern Minnesota.
Only two of those charged--Brianna Broitzman, 19, and Ashton Larson, 18--are named in the complaints since they were not minors when the alleged abuse occurred. According to District Court complaints filed against Broitzman (pictured above left) and Larson (above right), nursing home residents were spat upon, spanked, improperly touched, and tormented by the teenagers earlier this year. Excerpts of the misdemeanor complaints can be found below.
Broitzman allegedly poked one resident's breasts, spit into the mouth of another elderly person, and "put her bare butt" in the face of a Good Samaritan Society resident identified as "S.W." Larson once "inserted her finger into a resident's rectum," spit water on another "vulnerable adult," and would deliberately bathe a resident in a rough manner so the elderly man would get an erection. The minor caregivers are identified in the complaints by their initials and dates of birth. Broitzman, charged with 11 criminal counts, and Larson, charged with 10 counts, face a year in jail or up to a year in jail on each of the raps. (8 pages)

These girls all need to spend the maximum time possible in JAIL. There should be no leniency or sympathy for these women. SHAME on them!!!
This in regards to the two teen caregivers that have been charged with physical, sexual and emotional abuse of 15 Alzheimer's disease and dementia patients at a Minnesota nursing home; Brianna Marie Broitzman, and Ashton Michelle Larson.
After reading the police report and hearing of this incident over the news……..This sickens me and I am completely appalled! I think these young women need to be charges as adults, should do serious jail time Also they should be put on the sexual offenders list.
These women should have to pay for the consequences of their actions….. anyone else would, I really don’t care of their age or if they were voted the prettiest, most popular or were on the pep squad- what they did was WRONG.
I worked in nursing for twenty two years and started at the age of sixteen, I worked with Alzheimer's patients for six years; I… nor did anyone I every worked with, ever did anything like what these women did. They should be ashamed of themselves, and should be held accountable for their actions. These women are deviants in the eye of society and especially in the eyes of the medical field.
I believe in karma and may God have pity on your souls girls, and if not remember what goes around comes around- I hope when that happens, you can laugh as you did when you did those unspeakable things to those elderly people. I hope you carry the sorrow of those patients and family members for eternity.
To the patients and family members my heart goes out to you.
Totally Appalled in Colorado
If these girls receive a lenient sentence, I think that there needs to be an investigation as to who at the local courthouse may be receiving sexual favors from them. The most compassionate thing would be to commit them to the state mental hospital. It's unfortunate that our society can't mandate their sterilization. It terrifies me to think about a helpless infant being raised in their care.
