Cuts to City's Elder Abuse Program Puts Weakest at Risk

NEW YORK, NY December 05, 2008 —With the city facing a budget deficit that’s expected to balloon to $4 billion over the next two years, city agencies have been instructed to cut 7.5 percent of their budgets. Everything from daycare slots for low income families to dental clinics for kids, have been put on the chopping block.

As I've posted earlier in Elder Care - The First Cut is the Deepest; with the economic downturn, world-wide, we will be seeing more of the same in other countries.
The most vulnerable of our society will face more hurt, scams, neglect with less measures taken to protect them. Those of us who still can, must continue to speak up for the "voiceless". I, for one, will continue as long as I can.
