Age Concern - Campaign to Raise Awareness of EA (UK)

Superlambanana helping Age Concern Wirral’s new campaign

Feb 11 2009

 by Sue McCannBirkenhead News

AN ICONIC sculpture is spearheading Age Concern Wirral’s hard-hitting PEACE campaign.

A Superlambanana was unveiled at Sainsbury’s in Upton to raise awareness of the campaign - Preventing Elder Abuse and Changing Experiences – which has been sponsored by Comic Relief.

Now campaign organisers are asking the people of Wirral to give a name to the sculpture.

A series of posters has been launched across Wirral to bring elder abuse issues out into the open so that older people can recognise and report abuse which, in turn, will lead to many victims getting the help and support they desperately need.

For more information about the PEACE project, contact Age Concern Wirral’s Shirley Tyler on 666 2220.

l To enter our competition to pick a name for the Superlambanana, simply write your suggestion on a postcard and send it to Superlambanana, Wirral News, 76 Hamilton Street, Birkenhead CH41 5AN. Closing date is Friday, February 27.
