Embezzlement case against Prudenville man could go before Crawford County jury
November 12, 2009
A Crawford County jury could decide the fate of a Prudenville man accused of financially exploiting a senior citizens.
Kenneth N. Nebor Jr., waived his Tuesday preliminary hearing in District Court and was bound over to Circuit Court to face one count of embezzling from a vulnerable adult, his father.
His next court date is pending.
State Attorney General Mike Cox, who filed the charges, alleges Nebor used his father’s money to pay his own bills.
Embezzling from a vulnerable adult is a five-year felony that also carries fines up to three times the value of the money or property lost.
The charges stem from an investigation undertaken as part of Project $CAMS (Stop Crimes Against Michigan Seniors), a joint initiative of the Attorney General’s office and the Office of Inspector General for the Social Security Administration.
