ONPEA Responds to Recent Report of the Male Nurse Charged with Sexual Elder Abuse (CANADA)

The Ontario Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse responds to the recent

Report  of the male nurse charged with sexually assaulting a female nursing home resident.

“Sexual abuse of older women is probably the most insidious form of elder abuse because it preys on some of our communities most vulnerable people.  It is morally reprehensible as well as criminal.”

Teri Kay, Executive Director of ONPEA is angered by the recent account of elder sexual assault in Toronto but worries not only for the victim, but also for the lasting negative effects this type of incident may cause on the communityl
