Call for help with care home probe
14 February 2010
The Human Rights Commission in Northern Ireland has appealed for the public to help its investigation into how nursing homes treat the elderly.
It launches its freephone line on Monday and wants to speak to nursing home residents, their family, friends, carers and to nursing home staff.
Chief Commissioner Professor Monica McWilliams said: "In particular, we would like to hear experiences of the day-to-day lives of residents, as well as the care they receive.
"We would like to be clear that for the purposes of this investigation we are focusing on nursing homes and not residential homes."
The number is 0800 028 6066.
