Police investigate local complaint of elder abuse

State officials with Adult Protective Services filed a complaint of elder abuse with Denton police in April, alleging that an elderly Denton woman was being victimized by people close to her, according to a police report released Tuesday.
Detectives continue to look into how the title to the woman’s car was changed from her name to the name of a family friend. They also are investigating how the woman’s will was recently changed, leaving her home and the rest of her estate primarily to a friend.
