Caretaker pleads guilty to elder abuse

VISTA – The former caretaker of an elderly man who was left in a hot van while she gambled at a North County casino was sentenced to five years probation and 80 days in jail Thursday.
One of the components of Magan's sentencing is that she can never again be a caretaker for an elderly person or a dependent, said District Attorney spokesman Paul Levikow.
