Nursing Homes Face Increased Spot Checks (Australia)

The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency will undertake a record 7000 visits (up from 4000) to nursing homes next financeial year.

They will include announced and unannounced visits.

Minister for Ageing , Justine Elliot has also instructed staff to review the policy on police checks saying she wanted it extended to cover all staff, not just those with unsupervised access to residents.
